support for a charitable project

The owner of the Visitatio convent in the municipality of Kraainem decided to convert the vacant building into a shelter for Ukrainian refugees and families. We supported ‘Visitatio’ with neighbourhood communication during the permit process.

the question

With Visitatio, the convent was given a new purpose after the last sisters had left. At first, the convent served as a shelter for Ukrainian refugees. Later, the owner made the convent available as a temporary shelter for families.

But to fully transform the site into a place where young mothers and underprivileged families could receive support, renovation works were needed. This was a complex task, given the building’s heritage value.

increased support thanks to a human-oriented approach
We told a human-oriented story to the neighbourhood (both in French and Dutch) through a tailor-made strategy. Where neighbourhood residents were initially critical, they had since embraced the project. The building permit was therefore granted.
our impact
Visitatio’s project staff was handed the keys to the convent to get their charity project off the ground. Communication played an important role in this:
communication strategy
Development of a well-thought-out communication strategy with clear communication towards the neighbourhood, while placing particular emphasis on Visitatio’s warm and humane projects.
proximity communication
Strategic guidance and operational development of effective communication actions targeted towards residents, to build support for Visitatio.
content creation
Design of a logo and communication materials with a clear visual identity, inspired by the convent’s beautiful interior.
project communication
Alignment and coordination with the various parties supporting the project, to achieve a broadly supported and shared communication approach. Regular project meetings, close monitoring and coordination with the various partners were crucial in this process.
